Cosmic Pastels
We won't lie, there's a special place in our hearts for our super nova girl, Zenon! If you're not obsessed with the 90's like us, Zenon is the star of a 90's Disney movie about a twenty first century girl trying to get use to Earth life while saving her home planet. I guess you can say we're a lot like Zenon, just trying to figure out life here on Earth. So it doesn't surprise us that we were inspired by her fashion! We can't seem to get enough of the metallic details and for a modern twist we paired our stellar accessories with pastels to bring in some Spring time vibes.
These metallic details and pastel tones have got us feeling bright like a diamond. This light lavender sweatshirt is the perfect pastel piece for those April Spring days that are still a little chilly. We love wearing this top with some light wash denim and our favorite white high top vans. This metallic clutch gave us all the Zenon feels and brought the outfit together. In the words of our favorite girl, "Zetus Lapetus!"
It's no secret that we're California girls (one born and raised and one transformed Michiganite)! So to give a shout out to the state we love so much (next to Hawaii of course) we couldn't pass up this sky blue California cropped tee. We paired it with a silver metallic belt and a matching cross body bag. The clear sunnies with reflective blue lens' take this ensemble out of this world and into some awesome pastel parallel universe.
Our last look centers around these pink mules! We honestly couldn't pass these shoes up. The wide heel makes these shoes so comfortable for a brunch out with friends or a day of adulting and running errands. We may have been thinking of Sandra Dee when we caught a glimpse of these dreamy shoes and couldn't help but say "You're the ones that I want!"
We paired the mules with a knotted classic white tee to show off the metallic silver belt and keep that retro vibe of the 50's. To finish this Sandra Dee inspired outfit we added a pale pink long jacket. We're just trying to be as cool as The "Pink Ladies" obviously.
These outfits were inspired by more than just a few movies. Each piece of clothing fit a theme of women who were trying to figure out this thing we call LIFE all while striving for authenticity. In the end, our gal Zenon makes friends on Earth and everyone learns to become more accepting of one another's differences. Sweet Sandra Dee takes on a fierce new wardrobe while still staying true to her values. These gals may be fictional, but we're inspired by what they stand for and their outfit choices! Here's another glimpse of our true selves and proof of our inability to not use the peace sign in every shoot we have. :)
We hope y'all shine bright in your metallics this season and get all those Spring feels from your pastel hues. We would love to connect and see your outfit creations!
xoxo
