Staycation

There is nothing more exciting than planning a trip to a magical land far away from all of your responsibilities, right? The answer is yes, of course but are we the only ones who feel like we need a vacation after our vacation?! This past week we took a vacay in our own home and it couldn’t have come at a better time! The holiday’s had us at stress level midnight. Keep scrolling for OHBI's guide to a perfect staycation! 

BOOKS, ZINES & PODCASTS 

Gather up all of those books and magazines you’ve been meaning to read! With nowhere to go and all the time in the world put your peepers to use and start reading. Here’s a list of our favorite zines and a few books we’ve got on our list!   

Who runs the world?! Assistants! We related and got a few good laughs while reading The Assistants by Camille Perri. Camille has given a perfect glimpse into the mind of an assistant with a twist on answering the question about overeducated yet underpaid women.

If you're looking for a rom-com From Notting Hill with Love...Actually by Ali McNamara is a must! This one is the perfect combo of all of the classic rom-com movies.

Make sure you get your vacay fill of some of our favorite magazines Vogue, Glamour, In Style and REAL Simple. 

If you need to give your eyes a rest you can always catch up on your favorite podcasts. We've been loving Talking in Circles with Laura Miller and Girlboss Radio with Sophia Amoruso. It's always a treat to gain some inspiration and wisdom from the boss ladies of the world! 

 SLIPPERS

We didn’t crown ourselves Queen’s of Cozy for nothing! These slippers by Mahabis are the ultimate slipper ever invented. These practical slippers come with removable soles. That way you can feel good about strutting around the house with soles that haven't been outside tracking in germs and dirt. You know for when you go take out the trash and complete your one productive deed of the day. No judgement y'all! You're on staycation! 

TV SHOW BINGE

Maybe reading isn’t you’re thing so here’s a list of shows OHBI has watched and re-watched and a few new shows we hope to watch while we hold the reign of our throne aka the couch! 

Watched: The Ranch, Bloodline, Ozark, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, Stranger Things, Master of None, and Grey’s Anatomy just to name a few. Good news, these can all currently be found on Netflix!

Re-Watched: The Office (more times than we'd like to admit), Psych, How I Met Your Mother, Friends, and The O.C. 

To Watch: Big Little Lies, Insecure, and Game of Thrones (yah we know we’re totally late to the game). These are sadly exclusive to HBO but we’ve heard it’s totally worth it! 

BEAUTY REST

Turn off your alarm! Honestly there is no better feeling than knowing you don’t have to get up at a specific time. Enjoy those extra ZZZ's while you can. Y’all with us?!  

PROCRASTINATION STATION  

Next stop, the pile of projects you’ve told yourself you don't have the time for. Your 9 - 5 window just opened up! We know you’re on vacation and want to relax but there’s only so many days a person can sit around before getting bored. Plus completing those DIY or organization projects you’ve had on the back burners will feel so wonderful! Cleaning and organizing the OHBI office is first on our list (our creative space is out of control, we have a before and after video for you to check out on Instagram). We’ll share the deets of our office on a future post so stay tuned!
