We’re all about the masks
It’s no secret that the OHBI gals love our self-care Sundays (or self-care anydays)! We're loving the light that's being shed on the importance of self-care right now! Some of our favorite ways to practice it are free: Taking a nap, drinking more water, and soaking up some rays of sunshine. Sometimes splurging for a magical fresh face mask makes our self-care list too and this past weekend we needed it! We put two LUSH Fresh Face Masks to the OHBI test. To be perfectly honest there isn’t much to our test, it’s as easy as 1, 2, 3!
1. Does it smell like heaven?
2. Does it leave our face feeling silky smooth?
3. Is the product cruelty free?
Rosy Cheeks
If you know anything about A you probably guessed that she picked out this mask mostly because of it's dreamy blush pink color! If you're a sucker for floral scents then this mask is definitely for you. This mask will sooth, tone, and condition your skin all while letting you take some time to smell the roses. Thanks to the blend of calamine and kaolin your skin will be gently cleansed of the days dirt and the sweet smelling rose oil will nourish and tone your skin. A was saying "YAASSS!"
Brazened Honey
S couldn’t pass up a mask with the word Honey in it because it obvi screams OHBI gal! This mask is a two in one product which is perfect for anybody that simply doesn’t have time. It acts as an exfoliant thanks to its granulated texture as you apply it and soothes and moisturizes as you let it sit! With all the great ingredients in this mask we couldn’t quite put our finger on the exact scent so the best we can do to describe it is say it smells like a floral root beer float. Here’s the super specific deets of Brazened Honey (just in case you're interested)! The ingredients include fennel, ginger root, parsley and coriander to detox and stimulate your skin. In order to reduce the possibilities of infections aka pimples this mask contains sage, rosemary, and a juniperberry infusion with cardamom and clove bud oils. It contains lime juice to cleanse your skin. Last but not least free range eggs, almond oil and honey to moisturize.
Final Thoughts
They are worth the cost and you get the most bang for your buck! These face masks only set us back about $10 each and we can get at least 5-6 uses out of them. This is a lot more cost efficient than buying sheet masks plus there is no excess waste/packaging! We know what you’re thinking the masks y’all are holding come in plastic containers. Lush is committed to eliminating waste so if you bring back 5 empty and clean containers for recycling they’ll give you a free Fresh Face Mask! Shamazing!
They’re made with fresh ingredients so they do need to be refrigerated but can travel unrefrigerated for up to 6 hours.
Due to the freshness you can only buy these freshies in store. Kind of a disappointment if your nearest store is about an hour away but we dare to say it’s worth the drive as well!
They don’t test on animals! Y’all know we love our furry little friends so we must protect them any way we can.
These two face masks passed our tests! Even if these two don’t fit your needs there are so many different variations of face masks, you are bound to find one perfect for your current skin concerns. We would love to hear what some of your favorite types are. Find us on Insta @OHBIofficial and clue us in!
